OUR HISTORY
Humble Beginnings
Upon arriving in America, our founder Moses began a small but meaningful venture, using a handcart to deliver goods and connect with suppliers and bakeries alike. By building relationships with salesmen at key suppliers, Moses began purchasing directly from manufacturers and selling to local bakeries. This humble yet innovative approach laid the groundwork for what would eventually become David Rosen Company.

Our founder’s life story is a testament to courage and perseverance. Born in Poland, his early years were marked by service and sacrifice during World War II.As circumstances pushed him to seek a new future, he played a vital role in helping others escape conflict before finding refuge in the U.S. With the support of family, he built a foundation for success, channeling his determination into what would become an enduring legacy.

Through hard work and a focus on serving community needs, we grew steadily over the years. Recognizing new opportunities, we expanded our offerings at David Rosen Company to cater to diverse markets, particularly Hispanic and Italian bakeries. This expansion marked a significant step forward, establishing a strong foundation for future growth and cementing its reputation as a trusted supplier.

With David Rosen Company poised for continued success, Stuart Rosen stepped into a leadership role, bringing his deep industry knowledge and forward-thinking vision. Under Stuart’s guidance, we relocated to a larger, state-of-the-art warehouse in Brooklyn, significantly expanding our capacity and offerings. He introduced new product lines, including foodservice and freezer goods, while laying the groundwork for the next generation to lead David Rosen Company.

As Stuart transitioned to Chairman, Daniel and Jeremy Rosen stepped in as Co-CEOs to guide us into a new era at David Rosen Company. Together, they continued to grow the business, expanding its product catalog and increasing its reach.Their collaborative leadership has ensured that we remain leaders in the foodservice industry at David Rosen Company, building on the principles and values that have been central to its success.

Recognizing the shift in how businesses source and purchase ingredients, David Rosen Company embraced using computers, tablets, and phones to allow for better service with the salespeople having on hand live data and reports that allow us to maintain a well stocked warehouse while rotating the product to ensure fresh product to better serve its customers.
